Bauan, Batangas. A fire broke out in a residential area in Brgy. Sta, Maria at about 3:08 P.M. from the house of a certain Jaunito Manalo. An unattended and overheated electric fan from the second floor of the Manalo residence was the casue of fire.
Based on the spot report of Bauan Fire Marshall Michael John V. Escano, a telephone call was received by FO1 Axcil M. Tayab from a certain Beth Dimayacyac of an ongoing fire in Brgy. Sta. Maria on or about 3:10 PM. Immediately, the Bauan fire marshall notified Keppel Marine, AG & P and San Pascual BFP of the incident to help put out the fire as the fire truck of Bauan is in an unserviceable state at the moment. At 3:13 PM, the first responding team arrived at the fire scene. The fire was declared under control by the Bauan fire marshall at 3:30 PM and followed that the fire was out at 3:48 PM.
Houses owned or occuppied by Juanito Manalo and Menard Regulto were burned while a certain Richard Silang suffered injuries / lacerations on his foot while trying to save personal belongings from the fire, as confirmed by Brgy. Captain Restie Agena. Estimated damages on properties due to fire was placed at P800,000.00, based on the spot report of the Bauan Bureau of fire Protection.
Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Officer Antonio V. de Lacy, Jr. and Bauan PNP OIC PCI Joel Espano were on the fire scene ready to extend assistance to the fire victims. DRRM Officer de Lacy instructed Brgy Captain Agena to submit the complete report and data of the fire incident to the DRRM Office for possible extention of help and assistance through the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office.
Meanwhile, DRRM Officer de Lacy instructed Bauan Fire Marshall to submit to his office the problem of the Bauan fire truck to have the same serviceable again. A fire truck is very important not only in accidents like fire, but in attending to other types of disasters that may affect our constituents.Hits: 1972
